Kiron Sleep Disorders Center is a locally owned and operated
company, dedicated to helping people suffering from sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia, and
other sleep disorders. Founded in 1998, it is the first independent sleep lab in the county.
Originally a two-bed facility based in Durham’s Central Medical Park, Kiron now operates
twelve beds across three locations (Durham, Chapel Hill, and Cary). Kiron offers a full
range of services for the treatment and diagnosis of sleep disorders.
Is snoring is more than a noise?
Use the control panel to the right. Does that sound like
someone you know? When a person snores, some part of the upper airway is losing
tone and getting floppy. Sometimes snoring is a sign that the airway isn’t just
vibrating, it is narrowing and preventing the needed amount of air from reaching a
person’s lungs. Snoring for this person is a sign of obstructive sleep apnea, a
serious sleep disorder that can have serious consequences, including: high blood
pressure, heart attack, and stroke. Fortunately, sleep apnea can be easily
diagnosed and effectively treated. Please review the Patient
FAQ for more information.
